Who was Benjamin Banneker?  Why is he famous? This activity investigates the life and contributions of this noted African American. Find out about his life by completing the Timeline activity.

 

Directions

  1. Click on the Banneker Timeline and save to your computer.

  2. Using the right scroll bar, click on the down arrow to locate the yellow EVENT box.

  3. Add the year to each of the blue EVENT boxes.

  4. Drag each EVENT box up to place it in order.

  5. When you are finished placing the EVENT boxes in order use the LINK button to connect the boxes.  Remember when using the LINK button, you need to click LINK first and then the box where you want the arrow to begin and then the next box.  Remember, if you need to get rid of a link click on the link and press the delete key on the keyboard.

  6. Before you print you may want to change to the LANDSCAPE view.  Go to FILE and PRINT OPTIONS and make the following changes: click - Normal Full Size and Horizontal.
