SUMMARY:Uncharted Waters:  Water Use and the Environment
DESCRIPTION:Water is becoming an increasingly scarce resource in many parts of the United States\, as well as in many parts of the world.  FTE’s Uncharted Waters seminar will examine the economic and environmental concepts that are linked to debates about water use today.   Supply and demand\, marginal analysis\, property rights\, the Tragedy of the Commons\, and other economics themes will be covered within this multi-disciplinary topic.  A combination of lectures and hands-on activities will provide educators with the resources to be able to discuss water use and current events in their economics\, government\, and environmental science classrooms.  \nThis session is eligible for six professional development points\, or college credit through FTE.    \nAdditional Info: Required: Advanced registration is required as the course is limited to 30 participants. Registration deadline – October 24th  \nLocation:  Masonville Cove\, 1000 Frankfurst Avenue\, Baltimore\, MD 21226 (Continental breakfast and lunch provided) \nSaturday\, November 8\, 2025 — 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM \nA $25 deposit is required at the time of registration to reserve your seat. The deposit will be refunded to those who attend on November 8th and complete the course.  \nStipend: A $100 stipend will be provided to all participants who complete the program. (plus the $25 deposit will be refunded to those that attend)  \n(Participants must be full-time educators during the 2025-2026 school year.)  \n
