Economic Essentials: Understanding Economics in the News
An Economic Education Month Professional Development Seminar

How do you make economic definitions and concepts relevant in the real world? How can you help your students better understand the news? In celebration of Economic Education Month, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond and the Maryland Council on Economic Education invites educators to join Adam Scavette, Regional Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Baltimore Branch, as he discusses how to identify and understand economic topics and data in the news. Educators will also receive free teaching materials and resources that can be used to teach students how to interpret, economic principles and data seen in the news.
Date and Time: October 13th, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Location: The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Baltimore Branch at 502 South Sharp Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.
Parking: Parking at the Baltimore Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is limited to first come, first served. There are additional paid parking options nearby, such as the Sheraton Parking Garage and Camden Yards, for example. The Baltimore Branch is also located right by the Camden Yards Light Rail station.
Refreshments: Heavy hors d'oeuvre and beverages will be served.
