2025 APGFCU Scholarship

The 2025 APGFCU Scholarship is available to:

  • High school students aged 18 or younger who are current APGFCU members in good standing and anticipate graduating in Spring 2025.
  • Continuing students enrolled in a college, trade school, or certificate program in 2025.
  • Adults returning to a for-credit college, trade school, or certificate program in 2025.

 

Please note, this scholarship is not applicable to students in post-graduate programs or for the repayment of student loans.

First Financial Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program

First Financial Federal Credit Union (FFFCU) is proud to support students through our annual Scholarship Program. This year, a $3,000 scholarship is available to one graduating senior from each high school within our field of membership. Additional scholarships are available for student members attending schools outside our field of membership.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a member of First Financial Federal Credit Union of Maryland (Custodial, Health Savings, and IRA accounts are not eligible).
  • Be a graduating high school senior.
  • Plan to attend a post-secondary institution (college, technical, or trade school) in Fall 2024.
  • Have a minimum 2.5 unweighted GPA.
  • Attend a high school within FFFCU’s service community.

Application Requirements

  1. Provide your school counselor’s email to request a transcript.
  2. Submit a list of school and community activities.
  3. Provide two email addresses for letters of recommendation:
    • Academic Recommendation
    • Character/Personal Recommendation
  4. Write an essay (300 words or less):
  • What do you expect to gain from your post-secondary education?

Important Details

  • Deadline to Apply: February 1, 2024 (Next year’s deadline to be announced soon).
  • Scholarship funds can be used for education-related expenses during the first year of study.
  • Employees, volunteers, and their immediate family members are ineligible.
  • Membership Note: Join FFFCU today if eligible and apply immediately—length of membership does not affect eligibility.

Mid-Atlantic STA Foundation Annual Scholarship Awards

The Mid-Atlantic STA Foundation recognizes the vital role colleges and universities play in building a strong and healthy economy. As part of our commitment to supporting students in business, finance, and economics, we are proud to announce the Annual Scholarship Awards for 2024.

Scholarship Opportunities

  • High School Senior Scholarships
    Two $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who have participated in The Stock Market Game:

    • One recipient from Maryland
    • One recipient from Virginia
  • College/University Scholarships
    Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to college or university students from Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, D.C.

Key Information

  • Scholarship winners will be announced in August 2024.
  • Funds will be forwarded to the recipients’ respective schools prior to the Fall semester.

Are you a high school junior or senior passionate about creating positive change in your community? Through the Student Leaders® Program, Bank of America recognizes and supports high school students who are making a difference.

What You’ll Experience as a Student Leader

  • Paid Nonprofit Internship: Work for eight weeks at a local nonprofit organization to gain real-world experience and contribute to meaningful community initiatives.

SECU 2024-2025 Scholarship Details

This year, we are awarding 12 scholarships of $10,000 each to students meeting the following criteria:

Eligibility Requirements

  • Students currently attending one of Maryland’s 16 community colleges and transferring to a University System of Maryland (USM) university for the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Students already enrolled at a USM university who transferred from a Maryland community college within the last 18 months.

Applicants must be SECU members.

Key Dates

  • Application Period: March 18 – May 3, 2024
  • Winners Announced: June 2024
