Professional Development
Empowering Teachers Through Professional Development
Since 1953, the Maryland Council on Economic Education (MCEE) has been committed to empowering educators with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to teach economics and personal finance effectively. We believe that well-equipped teachers are essential to building financially capable students—and thriving communities.

- Online self-paced modules
These sessions provide hands-on strategies, engaging lessons, and real-world applications to bring economic and financial concepts to life in your classroom.

High-Quality, Standards-Aligned Training
MCEE offers free professional development opportunities designed to support classroom instruction in economics, personal finance, and related content areas, all aligned with Maryland State Education Standards. Whether you’re new to the subject or looking to deepen your expertise, our programs are built to meet you where you are and help you grow.

Earn Points Toward Certification
All attendees receive a Certificate of Attendance that may be submitted to their local school systems to receive points toward Maryland Teacher Licensure Requirements. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for teachers to advance professionally while enhancing their instruction
